In all honesty /g/ what would be a good language to learn/start with that is actually applicable/usable in the field of human resources.

I really want to get into programming since it seems fun and interesting but I want something that I could actually maybe use in the field I've chosen to study, what would you suggest?

J-javascript. In today's reality it's the most applicable language.
HR is valuable as a service. ASP.NET, CSS + JS, NodeJS-backed stacks, etc
Salesforce is huge, PeopleSoft is huge, SAP is huge but trash, Workday has gotten a ton of business... pick a product, line it up with a job posting. Generally you're just about programmer with some domain knowledge. If you want to go out on your own, you'll need to reimplement privacy and security for HIPAA and etc
