So I've got this HP Home Premium 64 bit Pavilion laptop and it was working perfectly three years ago until recently. I'm studying a career that requieres me to use my laptop for everything and it's got so frustrating, I've tried everything and nothing works.
>Use CCleaner every three days
>Formatted my laptop
>unistalled everything I don't need
>deleted all temp files
>deleted all my music, only have like 40 pics on my hardrive
>I have 85% of my Hard Disk drive space free
>Ran an AVG antivirus scan multiple times
>disabled all startup programs, disabled all background programs
>installed most drivers
>removed unnecesary Firefox plugins

And my lap is still slow as shit, Firefox keeps freezing up on everything I do and it takes forever to turn of and turn on... MY FUCKING BROWSER JUST FROZE FIVE MINUTES WHILE TYPING THIS. This wasn't happenening that bad until a few hours ago. I'm going crazy and I can't buy another one yet.

What power plan do you have Windows set to? Do you still have page filing enabled? And lastly you keep mentioned HDD. If you're looking to breathe new life into the laptop, I'd recommend a cheap 250gb-500gb ssd. Crucial BX200 480gb drives are usually $130.

As for Firefox freezing and etc, Firefox has gone to shit as of new versions. Not to be that generic /g/ poster but have you tried Linux? Might run smoother and if your laptop doesn't NEED Windows, you'd be better off.

get an SSD. Crucial BX are cheap and reliable. You won't believe how fast your laptop will become.

Consider Linux too.

I have the razer cortex power plan for some fucking reason... Checking the page filer and no, I haven't tried linux but everyone says it's better than Windows.
