that's not how CPUs work.

They don't slow down over time, the user bloats the phone which makes it lag. Mtk6753 is a pretty decent SoC for the price imo

No, just the fancy MiUi shticks. do it if you prefer stock Android.

Eh, the Redmi has Qualcomm SoC, is much lighter, and has huge ROM support. K6000 is novely.

No, but apps will become more demanding. the K6000 CPU is slower than the ancient N5. (Snapdragon 800).

You have Doze now, and you can just add an extended battery IF you want.

However on ALL Android devices:
- Location is a big suckers
- Bluetooth, NFC sucks battery
- Make sure to use WCDMA or 2G only if you have shit reception for 4G or 3G. For me, WCDMA/GSM works best, this way I have a deep green line always. Saves the most battery.
- Make sure wifi scanning is off in Google.
- Make sure Location is not enabled to turn on your location all the time.
>>
>>54633555
The G4 comes with replaceable battery, a very good camera (compared especially to Sony).

Sony pushes out flagships every few months, and drops support way too fucking fast. They dropped Z2 support, now I know Z3 will get dropped.

In fucking months your phone gets marked as obsolete by Sony, it's a fucking joke.
Then there is the battery - that I will never be able to replace. With every charge, it will be more and more shitty.
Meanwhile on my 3GS I was able to replace the battery in 5 minutes with a 2$ chink tool set.

Fucking Sony. I still don't know why people keep buying Sony phones.
>>
>>54633624
Does NFC really use a significant amount of battery?
Thanks for the other tips
LG G4, pretty dank phone imo.
>>
>>54633538
I know that feel.

Galaxy Nexus, htc desire s, nexus 5, lg g3.

Now I'm waiting on a redmi 3 pro because fuck flagship SoC I want good battery life.

If the sd616 is enough, my next phone might be a $100 mediatek device with big battery. Want to see how low I can go, kek
>>
>>54633644
Well I had NFC turned on my Note 4 for a while and I did notice a significant amount of battery drop.
But, all phones differ.

Sony for example used a Doze like feature before Doze was a thing, that also helped a lot with battery savings. (It was not Stamina, but basically a forced doze. It waited until X time, then allowed apps to use mobile data.)

>>54633648
There is no "good battery life".
I have a Note 4. Exynos.
Top of the line on every stat.

Real life?
It fucking sucks.
Takes a few hours to run out of juice if you use it and keep display on.

The tests with all that 6-8-10 hours of SOT?
Bull-fucking-shit.

The only way is extended batteries. That's it.

Also your battery will degrade in the Redmi. I know this "Apple is better at everything" is bullshit, but you must admit, their iPhone batteries do have quality OEM control. I doubt this applies to chink batteries.
>>
>>54633685
>There is no "good battery life".
Look at oukitel. People get up to 16 hours sot while browsing with the k6000. With the pro and premium the performance gets on a acceptable level. Build quality seems great sound quality is decent camera is okay (not the non-pro) but they weigh an uncommon amount.
>>
>>54633745

If you're not in the US, I really recommend oukitel for battery life.

He just got extremely pissed off at his iPhone 5 battery life being horrible and asked me for the cheapest and toughest android phone with good build quality.

I did go over how the soc might be a little weak since he's coming from iPhone, but after seeing the battery life he just bought it. Personally it's too heavy for me.

I like the design of the k6000 pro though, more than the premium actually.

>>

I don't need transformer battery with 10,000mAh, its just G4's screen is fucking UHD which drains battery really quick, that's reason I was considering also Z3+. According to GSMArena G4 has only around ~55h of endurance rating, while, for example some phones have up to 90h of endurance rating.

You're free to use an iphone, they're reliable, easy to use and have nice designs. Also if you buy an iphone, chances are it will be at least an 8/10 in every department (aside from battery which is fucking garbage), it's a well rounded experience.
The only reason I won't buy one, is because of how small the aperture and the camera sensor are, and because I know I couldn't put up with apple's bullshit i-environment, and it would just become a timesink jailbroken mess.

Has locked bootloader which cannot be unlocked afaik, unless they discover some kind of bug. Check xda for that stuff. Samsung has some nice phones, the s5 neo looks nice. But the exynos cpu just scares me away. It's the lack of future cm support that I don't like. If you don't mind that then go right ahead, the s7 seems to bbe a nice phone according to amazon reviews. More stars than the 6s in germany.

Not memeing. On a moto x 2nd gen right now and this phone is fucking great for its price. 200 bucks on motos website. i'm worried google won't let HTC put a microSD slot on their nexus, when every phone they've made for the past 3 years has had one.
although i may let it slide if there's a 128gb option.
>>
>>54639788
I wonder if we will ever see nexus devices with a sd card slot.
>>
>>54639859
Google refused to put SD Cards in their nexus devices because it was "unsecure" and "slow"

Seeing how Marshmallow and N pretty much encrypts everything and SD cards can be as fast as internal storage, and how most of the companies so far this year have re-introduced the sd card slot, it should pressure them into bringing it back

If it doesn't come back, then fuck them
>>
>>54639892
The n5x is nice but the 32 gb storage option is not enough for me desu. I'd like to have more room for the future. 64 gb minimum when there is no sd card possible. The 6p is just too big for my taste. I don't know if I should wait until the new devices are announced or not..

Rumors are currently saying mid-August for USA, and supposedly a worldwide launch.

>>54639707
Pay attention, bro. August 15th (supposedly).

As for no market in the UK, that's clearly false. Samsung research indicated most consumers used large-screen devices for entertainment, so they launched the Edge + instead of the Note 5 because it was the entertainment focused device. But nobody gave a shit, so they realized they fucked up.

If I get an MVNO that uses the carrier that will get the Note 6, but I then import the phone from overseas, will that work ok? Assuming the bands match?

The only way I can get it in my country is if I buy through the carrier, and Id rather avoid overpaying for both phone and contract.

Do you like bloatware? Backwards physical navigation buttons? Never being able to root? No custom ROMs? No updates whenever Samsung decides your phone is too old? Get the S7.

Otherwise, get the 6P.

>>54641985
>touchwiz on a low end phone

You're going to have a bad time.

>>54642101
You could import it, but the chances are fairly high that your imported one will be for a different market and have different bands than the one used by your carrier.

Looking at the Note 5, it looks like all versions have the correct bands for AT&T, but N920A (possibly the Asian version) is missing Band 12 for T-Mobile.

If you're using a CDMA based network like Verizon or Sprint, you can pretty much forget about importing a phone. They very rarely support CDMA, and even if they do it's a bitch to get the carrier to activate it.

Also worth noting is that you often do not get warranty coverage when you import a phone. So if it turns out to be defective you're pretty much SoL.

dual sim

usb host mode
shock resistant

don't care about:
thickness
weight
price
processor power

is the CAT stuff still my best option?

cdma mvno's use mostly the same firmware versions all around the world. it might miss one band (25) but will likely have the rest. if it's a gsm global model then it will work too.
