Yesterday I purchased a Hisense chromebook for 80 bucks. After setting up a gmail account the first thing I googled was how to load windows 7 on it. Well it turns out that chromebooks with an arm processor can't load windows os. That's cool, I can get used to a google smartphone laptop. I don't need to use firefox or a windows style interface. Whatever.
Besides being a dedicated Google internet interface what else can I use this chromebook for?
install some arm Linux
You should've got a haswell chromebook
My Acer c720 is now running Linux natively
Install Gentoo

No fucking way you didn't look it up ahead of time. Nobody would be so nonchalant with 80 dollarydoos.
But if you have a specific CPU(celerons I think?), you can run Ubuntu on it

You're better off not, because the chance you'll get the coin or just burn power, you're spending more than your making.
This chromebook is neat. It is a computer but it certainly isnt a windows pc. I don't know if I bought a defective unit but the thing that bugs me the most is not being able to right click on stuff. Not having a /C/ drive is ok because it lets me make folders to organize in the downloads area BUT since I cant right click I cant rename them.
