Guys in tech support all know the common remote support programs like Goto assist, Logmein, Teamviewer, Supremo..
We're using Teamviewer at our company but the problem is that licensing costs are getting out of hand. We just need 4 channels, a host edition (automatic starting remote support) and a list of host computers.
Any suggestions?
Webex or Citrix may be cheaper
Why don't remote support people use RDP built in windows?
I have always wondered.

If they're not in the same subnet or in a total different network
If you log in with RDP, the user gets disconnected and can't see what you're doing.
ease of use

I shit you not, if you people would take a few minutes to learn your systems instead of paying others to not learn, your companies would be better off.

You guys aren't actually this stupid right?
RDP requires either an RDP gateway or a port forward to bridge networks.

Step one - stop being a faggot
Step two - user your AD + powershell to start some foss vnc server on your faggot's pc on a random port and automatically connect you there, after you close your vnc viewer your the server should close
Step three - optional - for remote faggots only - use vpn to connect them to your company's network at local login
Here - AD (which you already have) + a bunch of FOSS programs + somebody to write that script (lets assume 60 usd/h - 2x60) + two faggots to test on and you did it. Now stop be a faggot and start doing your job instead of posting on 4chinz.

Nice idea, but we don't have this kind of money here. In India we go by rupees.

well, even better - tv's license vs homemade solution price difference becomes even bigger (2hx1usd =2usd for that script.

teamviewer ease of use is great, doesn't hijack sound/display, simple file transfer, works on most if not all operating systems, allows you to have an account for handling all your hardware, smartphone support, and handles multi-monitors properly
all which windows remote desktop software can't fucking do properly
if there was a better option I'd go for it because it's all proprietary

Try UltraVNC
ANYDESK / TEAMVIEWER
