Ok thanks, that's exactly the term I was looking for.

I guess this is an open question, but is it even feasible to try this without a networking diploma or anything? It would be convenient for me, but I would rather not get my entire home network owned because I am connecting to it remotely.

I use SSH all the time (terminal), but I just feel like I would get outfoxed somehow..
