I spent a lot more time on Testing than Sid so it's hard to really rate Sid.

Testing is literally just sid with a 3 day waiting period on updates. If you think anything broken is going to get fixed in 3 days before it reaches you, you're wrong.

I use sid, but imo it's smarter for 90% of people to use testing.

Don't use testing or unstable if you miss updated packages. Unless you're actively developing for Debian, don't use use these branches. As a user, use stable with backports instead. Or just use Ubuntu (no shame in this) if you don't find enough updated packages.
