anyone else here like these guys or have any of there stuff? or do they make meme stuff.
>>54533284
Sure asking the right guy. I like them.
>>54533284
I'm not sure about Dell their prebuilds are getting better but their laptops seem lackluster compered to other competition and their power apators on the older models fail too much.
Other than that no real issues generally. I still treat them like a newbie
t. HP fan.
>>54533327
i was just curious on /g/'s thoughts on dell were. i grew up with dell pc's so i kind of have a bias....
>>54533388
o cool, trip-dubs
I used to buy Dell and now I'm into HP. Better build quality.
>>54533284
I know I sound like a paid shill, but I honestly love dell laptops and displays. Nice hardware at a nice price.
Fuck off, newfag.
>>54533284
I love their Latitude and Optiplex line; they're tanks. The new Latitude lines especially are great buisness machines, and look the part (plane-jane, no frills).
I'd avoid their consumer laptops though, they're junk.
>>54533501
i have a optiplex 990 and a precision m4500 if that counts.
>>54533469
from my experience hps quality is poor
>>54533284
Dunno nothin bout their consumer stuff, but their business desktop and laptops are all pretty well documented and easy to work on

We have 20ish Latitude E5440 and E5550 systems here, and 70ish Optiplex 390 and 3010 desktops.
They're all mid-range corporate machines, but solid performers, and the NBD parts replacement warranties are best in class, even though I rarely have to use it.

alienware is at meme as it gets
>>54533557
we're not talking about alienware here twit. were talking more of the sane stuff they sell.
>>54533555
Oh and even though we're a relatively small account, my Dell rep still sends me swag. Couple years ago they sent me a 64GB Venue 8 Pro with all the accessories (case, bag, stylus, bluetooth mouse) as a freebie.
Really great company to work with, but again, this is their small business division; I've heard their consumer products/services/sales aren't up to par.
>>54533595
well they don't make anything worth having brand loyalty over but their shit just works

I got a Dell XPS PIII 866mhz back in 2000 for $1000.
Came with a super nice Sony Trinitron flat CRT. It died on me in like 2004 or something. Called up Dell and they sent a replacement even though the warranty ran out years ago but it was a normal CRT. Called back and they took it back and sent another Sony FD Trinitron. Loved the fuck out of that XPS and monitor.
I regret donating that XPS.
Really no idea what they're like now, but I got a heavily upgraded 2008 Inspiron 1520 that still works great with an SSD.
>>54533955
>866mhz
pentium 3?

Gee I wonder?
Currently running with a Dell XPS 15 (9550), Ubuntu/MATE. Very comfy, though I haven't even finished customizing things. Would recommend, if looking for comfy laptop. Key travel was weird to me at first and the area around the touchpad smudged easily, but still worth.
>>54533284
I'm less than impressed with their support stuff like getting their shit-ass awful sound card driver to not be bugged and defective iin every goddamn way, but whaddya know, the troubleshooting/support tools are just as fuckin buggy and useless, and of course they try to get around having to offer you proper service for a product you paid a shitton of money for by drowning you in a metric fuckton of "do it yourself" bullshit.
Of course, than can be said of any fucking company ever.
>>54534167
*that
Who wouldn't like Dell stuff?
>i7 870
>gtx 660

build was $50 total, all used parts bought gpu from friend and rest from a business liquidation sale
>>54534675
the fuck is that white cord plugged into? the would most retardedly placed PSU?
>>54534710
Welcome to OEM cases.
>>54534710
it's 2 psu's yeah, there are no pci-e pins on the dell psu and the dell psu has this weird mini 24 pin connector so i couldn't do shit.
>>54534726
OEM making it hard on everyone.
>>54534710
I imagine the stock dell PSU doesn't have enough watts for the GTX 660, so he just crammed in an old PSU solely to power the GPU.

Go post your memes in thinkpad general, If there are actual shills who get paid to post on /g/ they are most certainly chinse, see:

>>54534751
i wanna shoot whoever made that design choice. it looks retarded, might as well install arch on it for good measure.
>>54534726
In my experience OEM cases have god-tier cable management. Cables that are just the right length and don't clutter everything up.
>>54534825
IT WAS JUST A PRANK BRO
>>54534833
Yeah but if some part dies and a replacement is half the cost of the setup you're pretty much fucked unless you want to nigger rig it like >>54534675
>>54534825
Nice deflection, dellshill.
>>54534874
Wonder who could be beind this post?
>>54534885
Hi dellshill, still trying hard with pushing that shitty XPS13?
>>54534675
>two power supplies
>>54534942
>being suprised that people are talking about the best windows laptop you could buy
Fuck off lenoshit chink
I jave a really nice Dell Inspiron I bought from Dell with 4k resolution display. It was only $999. I dis have to switch out the 1 TB HDD with SSD.
I thought you faggots liked their XPS line?
Also, the Inspirons that I handled at best buy felt nice. Comfy finish with a matte screen. There's also a $750 one they offer with an i5 and a 960m that I'm considering for gaymen because I'm a student.
>>54533284

only the finest, for the most sophisticated meme connoisseurs.
they're more subtle then the competition, so plebs don't see it

So, dells are the middle ground of pre-bought computing?
have had the e5450 for a while, it's very solid. Marketed as "business laptop", specs match the 13" HP spectre minus display.
>>54534974
>>54534867
>>54534832
2 psu's wasn't factory if anyone thought that.
It's a nigger rig because it cost $50 and I didn't want to spend $1000 on a gaymen pc that i'd never play games on

Its also the best linux laptop you can buy
I have a 5130cdn, and its a beast. It has never jammed or broken. Its fast af, and now that I had it moved to my laundry room, it doesn't even make my lights flicker.
Only change would be to make it light enough to move myself.
>>54533284
The majority of machines I've owned that I didn't build myself were Dell. I still have an Optiplex GX200 (RAMBUS niggas!!!), and a couple of Inspiron laptops, including my Mini10 netbook.
For laptops it's either been IBM Thinkpads or Dell laptops with the vast majority being Dell. I've had nearly every Latitude from the old CP-233 through the C610. My most cherished laptop of theirs was my Inspiron 5000e. Extremely flexible modular design, 1400x1050 display, great machine. I shed a tear when I had to sell it.
I will only ever buy Latitude laptops, they never do me wrong. Dell Outlet refurbs, man
I don't know about their more modern stuff but the Latitude XT2 is a god-tier machine
>>54533518
I think neo HP is good though, especially if you are looking at the business line or their rpn calculators which are of course far superior to ti equivalent.
They even have a smartphone releasing next month that looks to have real quality, windows phone being the only possible problem.
Their business technical support during business hours are engineers in Texas. THIS IS WHY I NEVER RECOMMEND THEIR CONSUMER LINE. Their business line is great.
Outside of that, their technical support is absolute garbage. My number got stolen from their database, probably by one of their employees, so pajeet has been calling me trying to scam me out of my money. I'm seriously trying to plan setting up a virtual machine and just fuck with them but they keep calling me at work or when im doing something.
(im OP)
Holy shit this thread is still up? i would have expected it to die out.
poweredges are good
Ive been using an inspiron n5040 for a few years now and im very happy with it, for the price i paid
