Nobody on /g/ uses garbage open source software like gimp or Linux. We all use Windows and play video games.
GIMP truly is garbage but Blender is quite alright. I wish they'd actually slowly turn it into a video editor because that's one thing sorely missing on GNU slash Linux.

no no no, you take that back OP
as awful as it may be, Blender is lightyears better than GIMP in terms of being an replacement for things (at the very least, modeling, rendering, basic compositing, and animation) - like there's literally nothing better in the Gratis section let alone Gratis & Libre that works and works on multiplatform and supports a lot of modern and helpful shit.
Blender is actually used by non-retards for some things... and companies see it as a viable thing to start saying "huh, we should make <x> compatible with it" IIRC there was much interest in getting Renderman and Substance in to blender. which i mean, for an OS Project, is highly remarkable that proprietary software even considers you.
Disclaimer : i suck balles at 3D Modeling, and i find the proprietary shit like Modo\Maya\3DM\Lightwave way better in terms of interface miles easier
