Wether you think it looks pretty or not obviously just comes down to your opinion, but from a design standpoint it's better than anything M$ or freetards have pulled out of their ass so far.

There's a good reason why people don't follow the guidelines. Even Google rapes the guidelines. There's no way to incorporate your own/company styling to apps if you strictly follow the guidelines.
