What features / abilites should an "intelligent personal assisttant" (or "AI" for normalfags) have to be considered useful?
There are many products on market (Amazon's Alexa, Microsoft's Cortana, Apple's Siri, Google Now, Hound, ...) and more are coming (Viv). They can make notes, check weather, tell a joke and maybe even play some media. That's basically a bit more than chatbots from 90s were able o do.
What skills would have to be implemented for intelligent personal assistant to be considered useful?

They need it to be able to interpret subvocal throat movements as language so that people can speak to it without speaking out loud like a retard in public. Once they do that it will become the primary means of interface between people and their computers, superseding the touch screen.

If it's just a computer and not a robot, something that learns certain preferences and does them for you unless you opt out
