No , defiantly not , if you shop around for a used thinkpad x201 on eBay you can get an i5 and 4gb ram. Keyboard is shit load better too.

It depends for what
Used thinkpad like an x220 or the t420 will have a much better build quality and a better processor and is easily upgradable
A thinkpad however is unlikely to have any warranty left, and show signs of wear and tear as the most commonly recommended thinkpads are getting on 5 years old now. The resolution for them is also shit, 720p for the x220 and the t420 has models which go up to 900p, whereas you can get chromebooks with 1080p IPS screens for a reasonable price
My dad gave me a chromebook.
He was on a business trip and bought it because he just wanted something cheap and basically disposable to use to surf the internet and then when he got back he decided to just give it to me.
I think it's neat, fantastic if all you care about is Chrome. It's snappy and 1080p streaming video works completely fine.

yep. It has a 300GB harddrive. I've saved pictures from the internet and played videos on it. Though the built-in player can't handle softsubs from mkv files.
