Hello /g/
I stole a box of my grandma's old floppy drives. I found a red one, a blue one, and a yellow one.
I'm gonna load each one up with the appropriate Pokemon rom, a save file, and I'm also looking to squeeze in an emulator if I can.
I'm looking at a max of 397 KB for the emulator. Sadly, bgb is 398 KB even without the 5 KB config file.
Also if anyone knows any gameboy emulator that is close enough in size and is open source, I can tear out some unneeded junk to make it fit.

OP here, I have a correction.
With the save file, I only have 366 KB to work with.
My bad.

Did you tried using compressed romz to clear up space for an emu?
>>54470810
You're lucky if they even work.

http://www.zophar.net/gb.html There is probably a small enough one on here.

The idea is to just insert the floppy and be able to play the ROM. Unless there is an emu that can load a compressed rom directly.

All three work. One had a pirated version of Scrabble for DOS.

Some of these are pretty promising, thanks!

Can't they all?
From what I remember it is possible to format dd floppys as 800k or hd as 1.60mb
just put a .url file and autorun.inf on each one. link to a js emu in le browser, le cloud. be sure to write it for IE as well.

Try NO$GMB, it's tiny, fast and written in asm.

this, it's be awesome if you also made it a bootable dos disk
boot to pokemon, so it even acts like a cartridge

there's microsoft's DMF, which formats a standard 1.44MB 2HD disk as 1.68MB
i think i might see what i can fit in a floppy image myself, been ages since i touched floppies or dos, though
don't have a drive or floppies on me, but i do have QEMU

well, looks like i can comfortably fit freedos, no$gmb and an uncompressed pokemon red onto a 1.44MB image
