If Windows 10 is supposedly spyware/malware/adware/botnet that stores and spies on everything you do, then why do all the government agencies and fortune 500 companies recommend their employees use it? Because the fact of the matter is that it's the most secure version of windows ever created. No more pass-the-hash, much more difficult to exploit, no more unpatched systems without any real malware protection. Most of you paranoid idiots don't even know what half those things are, but the point stands that Windows 10 is very secure and infinitesimally different from a real 'botnet malware' as you tinfoil hatters call it.

>>
>>54457681
Yeah I agree with you. Ever since I move my company to free Windows 10 upgrade, I have way less complaints about malware. The new Windows Defender and SmartScreen Filter really is very effective.
>>
>>54457681
I am loving the new Windows 10 so far. The free Windows 10 Upgrade is expiring soon you people should take it while you can. It won't be fun using unpatched Windows 7 or 8 in 2017 especially in this age of bad malwares like ransomware.
>>
>>54457720
>>54457745
Sarcasm?
>>
>>54457681
Windows 10 IS more secure, but apparently this board is full of idiots who equate minimal telemetry data == microsoft employees looking at their personal info
>>
Yeah OP I love this system. As a non-microsoft employee I use it on my home to enjoy my collection of music and movies, use cortana to get stuff done fast, I cannot understand the people who say this system is spyware because do you actually think they would not say so if they did that? It would be illegal for them. And even if they did, what would be the problem? The government isn't going to look into your personal files. They just do it to stop terrorism.
>>
they can spy on me all they want.
>>
>>54457765
Being sarcastic about what? Windows Defender is actually pretty decent about catching threats. It's not the same as it was in the Windows Vista era.
>>
>>54457681
If people are worried what Windows 10 can see imagine their horror when they find out the logs all the major isp's keep

VPN's are basically useless
>>
the whole 'windows 10 spies on you!!!' meme really needs to end. This is getting tiring and redundant. There is ZERO proof Microsoft gathers any data. The only thing they gather is minimal telemetry error reporting data that in no way can be traced back to anyone.
>>
>>54457817
>>54457681
lol most people here have no security or networking knowledge, it's pretty funny to see them acting like idiots. Rather than getting themselves informed and educated, they post complete bullshit to scare people away from Windows because they have a grudge against Microsoft.

>>
Guys I contacted microsoft because I haven't gotten my 50 cents from posting here yet. Have any of you?
>>
>>54457681
Nobody even knows what type of data they gather. The privacy policy seems worrying, but pretty much any company has a similar one nowadays just to cover their asses. Why would Microsoft want to waste their money and ruin their reputation to supposedly spy on people using Windows 10 in the first place? They don't need Windows 10 for that, they have bing, msn.com, and a whole bunch of other websites.
>>
>>54457817
Man, the Prajeets are out in force tonight. Apparently if you just keep claiming it's all bullshit, eventually people will start to believe it.

>it's just harmless telemetry, nothing more!
>no, you can't see the source
>no, we're not going to stop collecting it, no matter how many buttons you press or how much you complain! we need that data! also, PRISM compliance. you know how it is guys, amirite?
>just trust us you dumb fucks!

lel

Stallman is a fat, useless retard but he was right about at least one thing: proprietary software is for suckers.
>>
>>54457681
I don't understand all this paranoia about spying either. It literally takes 5 seconds to change the privacy settings and disable the already harmless minimal telemetry in Windows. PS, telemetry has been built in since Windows XP and it's a complete non-issue, but it's just now that most of the tech news websites found a new source of bullshit, controversial clickbait content.
>>
>>54457874

Had to scroll all the way down to find a single fucking voice of reason. Not showing your source code is the end of the discussion when it comes to security. Period. It's a non starter.
>>
i really couldn't care less if the government was spying on me.
i'm shit scared of corporations spying on me.

governments are inept and having bureaucracy.
whereas corps are evil fucks who would all love some way to alter peoples behavior.
>>

>>

TRUE
>>
>>54457929
Windows source code is actually available to governments and large companies. Hence how nt 4 and win2k source codes got leaked. But you ignorant paranoids obviously wouldn't know anything about that, you're too busy regurgitating baseless FUD from shitty uninformed tech news websites that cater to exactly your kind.

Or just not be a Windows-using retard. That also works.
>>
>>54457932
That's a ridiculous view to hold. Technology is making governments more and more efficient and they have access to all the data that corporations collect.

You should dislike corporate spying because it's government spying dressed up as products and services you want.
>>
>>54457874
Free software software is largely worthless for any serious business work. What are people gonna do, use GIMP instead of photoshop? Use libreoffice instead of quickbooks? What about something like Active Directory? LOL please be realistic here.
>>
>>54457990
Yeah, because here on 4chan's /g/ technology board we're all about serious business work. No NEETs or McJobbers here. Fortune 500 programmers and industry professionals all around.
>>
>>54457979
wot? no.
look at what i wrote.
i don't care what governments know. they will bungle and bumble.
corps LOVE data about people and behavior. And with it they alter behavior in subtle ways to increase sales.
>>

>>

>>
>>54458037
Windows 10 now actually has a Bash shell and full Ubuntu support. Don't know why anyone would even bother with buggy-ass linux at this point, considering windows 10 is a free upgrade, and most computers already come with a Windows you can upgrade from.
>>
>>54458021
There isn't anything to discuss. It's the usual Rajeesh drivel. One part marketing bullshit, one part full-blown denial. Despite the fact that no one is buying into it, it still gets posted several times a day.

What would you like to discuss? The Windows stranglehold on the business world? Yeah, that's decades old news. The spying? Yeah, we know. We wish they'd stop, actually.

What else?
>>
0/10 shitt bait full of shills. I am staying on Windows 7 and Ubuntu dual boot. I have blocked all telemetry and upgrade related updates from 2015 onwards.
>>
>>54458092
It's one thing to be slightly worried about data gathering in Windows 10 considering all the clickbait FUD written about it, but I truely feel bad for you if you are delusional enough to solidly believe that a large multinational company like Microsoft is employing Indians to advertise Windows 10 on a website like 4chan. Also, isn't it like 4AM in India right now?

>>

Well someone still needs to be paid for their time to make those supposed posts. When you look at it from an outsider point of view, Microsoft paying Indians to advertise on 4chan is completely absurd.
>>
>>54457811
Openvpn for torrenting is not useless if you use one in a country where the legislation doesn t force the compagnies to keep logs.
>>
>>54458121

They don't need to. There are enough people that are scared of losing/invalidating their knowledge about Windows usage (i.e. where to click to do x, how to configure y, etc.), and those people will shill for free. Same reason why the metro ui was hated on so much.
>>
