What is this new file selector?
Is it because of Firefox 46 or something else?
It is even worse than the old one. Typing no longer moves the selection to the entry starting with what you typed, it literally opens an awkward as fuck filtered list.
Clicking once on something already selected activates/opens the folder, not the old doubleclick semantics
what the fuck is the GTK/Firefox team smoking
firefox has nothing to do with the gtk file chooser

Yes and no, 46 dropped gtk 2 support, and you can clearly see the difference between two

>>54436843pacman -S chromium kdebase-kdialog
Problem solved.

I just install it and problem solved?
Firefox starts using it?
>>54437444
No. Firefox is retarded and won't use it by default, but there is a patch that allows you to use it: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/firefox-kde-opensuse/
>>54437466
is there no single .patch I can use? I can not make sense of AUR
>>54437498
what can't you figure out, just enable aur in pamac or octopi whichever you're using
>>54437516
I do not know which file is the patch that fixes the functionality
I need a specific or a set of .patch files
>>54437552
it's not a patch file bruh, it's a pre patched version of firefox, uninstall your old firefox, then install the kde opensuse one

download snapshot, it will contain all the patches they applied, the one with dialog fixes are unity-menubar.patch, but they are for 45.0.2 so you may need to alter some things. Also, I'm pretty sure there is overlay somewhere with same thing for gentoo, you just need to search for it.
