that's inaccurate though unless your mind is only on gaming (which Im betting it is)
i7 is great for anything that is highly threaded and can benefit from more cores.
a 5820k with 6 cores, 12 threads is going to DESTROY an i5-6600k in encoding or rendering. I mean cleanly destroy by 50%+
Now in gaming, obviously the i5 is going to give you 90% of the performance of an i7 while being cheaper.
But not everyone is a gaymer fag.
