I was offline until 2008, when the Windows ME shitbox we were using finally died in a thunder strike.
Even after that the desktop I got didn't have wi-fi so to get online I had to use my mom's laptop.

>tfw my family has dual phone lines so I can go on all day

And man, I'm still on a Win95 box from 1994, came with 3.1 and DOS 6 originally.
Top of the line then, but pretty garbage now. Gonna get a new machine in a bit once ME comes out.

>>54427239
>Applel used to be for people who wanted to get shit done and still made workstations that where'nt laughable memes until those horrible all in one crt's
Apple was dying for the entirety of the mid 90s until the iMac, and all-in-one machines have been a staple of the lineup since... well, the 1984 Macintosh.

like, the Mac II-era tried to bolster Apple's appearance as a workstation manufacturer (a decently loaded Mac II that was full of RAM, had the big color monitor, and had the graphics board to drive it at 256 colors was in the price range of an SGI machine or a NeXT box at launch, but generally not quite as nice -- the SGI machines had accelerated video, and the NeXT machines had a nicer OS than System 4-6 by a country mile, and then more recent SGI machines throw a fully loaded Mac under the bus for the same price, and even a normal IBM-compatible PC is starting to really leave them in the dust)

and it's not like Windows 98 is any less stable than OS 8, an OS that pretty much locks up completely whenever you're running a single intensive task and might as well be single-tasking
kind of wish Copland didn't fail, that shit was embarrassing

Apple's performance to cost has never been that good, ever.
just adequate and nice looking

It took me many many years to get one of these (fucking SGI and their god damned proprietary connectors be damned to Hell for eternity squared times Pi) but when I did it was god damned glorious I assure you.

I don't have one anymore but I damned sure wish I did. The first true color pure digital LCD ever made, the almighty SGI 1600SW.

With buggy software OS 8 would go down faster then a whore who just got paid. But nothing ever worked with Win98. If it didn't come out of the box with the machine, then you had to jump through hoops just to get a fucking keyboard to work properly and not bring down the system or stop it from booting.

So I would say it was a wash. Both were unstable crap in their own ways.
