I thought the new Pascal 1080 and 1070 would be using HBM2 by now, why is nvidia still re-using GDDR5 for the X times?
Do we even have a good VR game that can use all the new VR tech they introduced?
GP104, only GP100 uses HBM2
because hbm is still really fucking expensive and the yields are shit
How much does HBM actually cost per stack? I have never seen any pricing.
This! I say we forget about Pascal and just wait for the real graphics to be provided by AMD.

HBM is difficult to produce, and Hynix can't keep up the production volume, and Micron's HBM line is just ramping up.
Basically, it's a supply issue.
aw, not fair. pascal is still cool. better than java.

Who cares. I'd rather have better price/performance over "BUT IT HAS HBM IT MUST BE GREAT".

are you okay?
Nvidia already uses HBM2 but only for GP100

Samsung is the only manufacturer of HBM2 currently, SK Hynix won't even start until Q3

>GP100
i heard that Nvidia will release a gaming edition card with HBM2, 4 months after the 1080 and 1070?

No, Nvidia is selling every Tesla P100 they can to large companies like Google which placed very large orders, no consumer GP100 products until next year
real Pascal comes in November or early 2017. This is just a die shrink that we've known about for a long time.
