How come there is no programming board?
because for the umpteenth time, things that can fit into generals on boards should not become boards of their own

you did it wrong retard

Because programming is not like those "creative" activities
Compare drawing for example, when drawing there is no objective way to do it, when you finish you may feel satisfied, others will tell you your drawing is shit, others may praise you
When writing a script it will either run or not run, or it will fuck shit up or run really poorly, there is an objective path to reaching optimal results, whereas in art there is no such path.

What the fuck, you can do that?
I was here about half a decade before we got a catalog so I never learned how to use it. neat
What are you on about 7/11 chan has /prog/

found the pajeet
Programming is very much a "creative" activity because your code could be short and sweet, or it could be an overengineered OOP unmaintainable mess that still manages to do the exact same thing.
You simply don't care about how software works underneath.
If programming wasn't a "creative" endeavor, how come programmers are basically required to have a portfolio these days to get anywhere?
>>54415871
one could argue that optimizing code is an art

That's the thing, there is many ways to write code which compiles to the fastest possible solution, but code readability and 'elegance' are difficult to achieve
>>54416007
Readability is much easier to achieve than efficiency.
Efficiency usually looks like bitwise hacking and large blocks of comments explaining some black box function and how you shouldn't touch the magic numbers because it's perfect.
