Blame Intel. Apple wanted a fanless ultrabook, and with x86 it's only (barely) possible with Core M.

And ironically, Apple makes their own CPUs that are more powerful than this piece of shit, and doesn't even throttle under normal circumstances. It would be perfect for this laptop, if they were to make a switch to ARM.
