I'm so sick of having to pay ridiculous amounts of money on phones just to use basic applications, and the ones that are cheap are usually shit and lag like all hell.

Any suggestions for smartphones between $150 and $200 (AUD)?

Pic related, Optus sell it for $170 but I heard it was shit.

I wanted a cheap android phone to try out tinder so I bought a vodafone first 6 for 20GBP. Am very impressed with it, works absolutely fine and incredible value for money. My next phone would probably be about a 70pound vodafone model

I still use a first gen Moto E.
Lasts all day and browses 4chan fine.

Woot is selling refurbished LG G3/G2/Volt handsets for 160/60/35 respectively, I picked up a G2 to use as an expendable backup smartphone for running Torque (reading car sensor data and shit) and other stuff.

The phones have service from some shitty MVNO called FreedomPop, they promise "free" phone service using Sprint's shitty network but I'm not planning on really using it as a phone so I haven't looked into them very much. The G2 is good enough for $60.

It's about $300 AUD. Nice phone, but out of my price range.

>>54389992
I've seen the specs and I can tell it'll lag.

Which would be great if I were in States. I'm in Australia.

It is when you can't afford any decent one over $200.

Redmi note 2 pro should be around 180 aud on aliexpress
>>
>>54390273
$195 actually.

But the helioX10 is like a better SD810 with a weaker GPU.

Really worth it for that price

Using a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 at £100 - Snapdragon 610 (I think), 2GB, 1080p, micro-SD (I'm using 128GB with no problems), 4G.

It's pretty comfy. My days of buying flagships are over.

Bait or no bait, it doesn't matter. People are getting stupider and stupider with each generation, but they "feel" they're smart(er) because the word smart in every other thing they buy.

Hijacking,
I have a OnePlus One with Oxygen OS based on Android 5.0.2.

I want to upgrade to Marshmallow, but apparently there is only Cyanogen OS available for that, can I just flash it with no issues?
>>
>>54390365
I agree with you that it's an advertising technique.
>>
>>54390337
>he actually bought a smart ultra even though it has loads of issues and will NEVER get Marshmallow

Hahahahahah
>>
>>54390052
I got one a couple months ago, threw CM13 on it and am really happy with it

What issues, /g/uy?
>>
Just get a Xiaomi. For your price range your best bet is either the Redmi Note 2 Prime or Redmi 3 Pro.

Xiaomi has way better build quality than those rebranded chinkphones they sell through carriers. Go around to /CSG/ and find a seller that can ship to you.
