Sorta regret giving mine away for free. Would have been a great mineral tank-cracker build candidate.

You should've done waiting for Zen.

Would like to have it at 4GHz, but it needs 1.5V for that extra 125MHz. At least the IMC is pretty good and handles 1666MHz RAM without a voltage bump.

Still deciding on whether my next upgrade will be Broadlel-E, Skymeme or Zen. Not really feeling the need at the moment. Gaymes becoming a lot more multi-threaded in the past couple of years has given six-core Phenom IIs a new lease of life.

AMD's 45nm chips can tank more voltage than their intel counterparts. If you've got the cooling, i say go for it.

Also, if possible try jacking up the CPU/NB as that provides some pretty substantial gains by itself.

No CPU-Z on glorious GNU + Linux so I had the opportunity to install a free and libre alternative that respects my freedom. As you can tell, it is a greatly superior piece of software to the proprietary cancer you rubes are posting.

That's some fucked voltage my 4790k does 4.8 at 1.35v it could probably go lower to that's just what I through at it

e5 1650 v3 build will be replacing it in the next couple of months, though

I just don't think it's worth the extra power draw really. From what I've read, getting up towards 1.5V+ essentially doubles power consumption over stock, and the performance benefit is going to be insignificant. It just triggers my autism to have it at 3875MHz.

I already have the NB at 2750MHz. Getting it to even boot at 3000MHz is a challenge. I went to 1.325V before giving up. Again, just doesn't seem worth the extra heat/power consumption.

I could maybe tweak things a little higher if I lowered the bus back down to 200MHz, but my board disables power saving features like CnQ automatically based on CPU multiplier (above 17.5 I believe). At 250MHz I can leave the multiplier lower and CnQ still works.

bought it last month to replace a G6950

can't get it over 4.2GHz without raising the voltage over 1.35V, which is a bummer

that's some pretty fucked voltage for the clock speed anon.

should be able to do 3.4-3.5Ghz on 1.125, heck mine runs stock at 1.005

>>
>>54390962
I have to reset the BIOS using the jumper pin after doing an overclock to return to the stock VID values, else it (the motherboard I assume) sticks at something similar.
>>
>>54390888
thanks m8, I didn't even notice
that voltage was still in there from some old experiments and is of course completely unnecessary

run it in a VM? or WINE?
