If a lot of you /g/entlemen do CS just to become a Software Dev, why not just study Software Eng instead? I understand knowing CS gives a deeper understanding of algorithms etc.

Not trying to bait anyone, I'm going to do my first year of college in September and deciding between CS and Software Eng. And I'm just want to hear your opinions.

SE and CS is almost the same at my uni, I'm only doing SE because I get an engineer title instead of a scientist title.
Most people think software engineering is more fancy than computer science since Peter Naur named it "datalogi" here.
