gentoomen, how do I restart an app in unix? I am currently running a server that requires a particular process that crashes very often. This gives me the work of having to restart it everytime, manually. I'd like to know if there isn't a script or something that I can run in the background that would automatically restart the app once it crashed.
sudo apt-get windows 10

Sounds like you need systemd.
It keeps track of processes and sub-processes and can easily be set to auto-restart a service that kills itself.

It's not something I wrote to begin with. It is an actual process. I can't really mess with the source code. I think it might even be possible, but I'm not that good at programming.

I like to call it app. Process, if you will, but I've grown used to the former. Blame Steve.
