Is there any reason to not install pulseaudio?
If you don't want to. It's a choice, like everything else in GNU.
WELCOME TO GNU, WE ARE HERE TO SERVE YOU, IF YOU DON'T LIKE HOW A DISTRO DOES THINGS YOU DON'T FUCKING HAVE TO USE IT
HOLY SHIT WHAT A RADICAL GODDAMN CONCEPT

Wat? Just wondering if there was some huge con to it.
Does it require systemd?
>>54348686
Not really. systemd does things a bit more efficiently but with some tradeoffs (size and basically taking over a lot of what would be self-contained services, which isn't bad or good, just different).
It's all up to you. Freedom.
you'd lose things like per-application volume and shit like network/bluetooth sinks nobody uses

Holy shit you have missed the point in two posts.
No there's no downside to having pulseaudio.
