I want to buy a new internal HDD for storage, what brand should I buy?
I know Seagate and Hitachi have the worst reliability, but which one is best? Western Digital and Samsung?

If you're buying 1TB or lower, cheapest non-seagate.
Between 1TB and higher capacity consumer grade, it depends from model to model.
For enterprise, seagate, wd reds are all good

Find your local shop with cheapest prices
Open filter, select newest first ( release date order ) check for 7200 rpm and for 64 mb buffer ( 128 if it's cheap but it usually isn't so it's not worth it )
Now put the maximum price you're willing to pay in and check for the most purchased or review product from the list - get that one...
If you can find an hybrid ssd that has 7200 rpm and 64 mb buffer alongside SSD cache - get it. But they're just rebranded SSHD's for looong looong time ago, so you're better of buying 2016 produced HHD's using the filters I mentioned.
