As much as like paint.net I want the meme that paint.net is better than gimp or other free or nonfree drawing programs to stop

It's a barely better mspaint.exe that's easy to use (not as easy as mspaint.exe mind you) with a nice gui (for a windows programs) and support for layers which is always good.

It's nowhere near close to gimp and it actually doesn't even try to be
>>
>>54320216
Gimp is a pain in the ass to use, PDN might be less featured but it's way nicer to use
>>
>>54320187
>VBscript
Still, it's better than PowerShell but nowhere near close to Bash or other Free scripting languages

Who ever thought that a shell that returns objects instead of plain text is a good idea?
>>
>>54320228
mspaint.exe is even easier to use, what's your point?
>>
>>54320245
pdn strikes a balance between features and usability

for my own personal use case it's fine, but if i wanted something more i'd just straight up download photoshop and not deal with gimp bullshit
>>
>>54320228
PDN has great plugins though.

As soon as I got a few extra plugins (pyrochild pack) I haven't used gimp in like 3 years, total trash.
>>
>>54320012
We don't need shit like that outside of windows anyway. Paint.net is terrible and unusable.
>>
>>54320239
>Who ever thought that a shell that returns objects instead of plain text is a good idea?
People who had to maintain complex shell scripts, probably. PowerShell's is a great idea. The problem is that the syntax is cumbersome and crappy.
>>
>>54320261
If by features you mean mspaint + layers and that's that sure

But that's not enough and surely it's not as good as Gimp
>>
>>54320103
Adobe flash is on OS X.
Hexels is on os x.
Photozoom Pro is on OS X.
Midnight Commander is a good equivalent.
vector magic is on OS X.

Only for the most basic file operations. Even something as mundane as search is much superior in TC, to say nothing of the plugins.

Even if there wasn't Pinta (with the last commit from 4 days ago), there is still LazPaint which can even import paint.net colour palettes.

More pressing, MS Paint has no (working) equivalent on GTK based desktops.

Are you kidding me OP? Paint.net is not only outdated, but it can't even save project files that preserve seperate layers. God even GIMP can do that.

The length anti-productivity freetards like you will go to with your blatant lies is getting embarrassing.

The one thing I miss in pinta, krita, or other shit alternative on linux is the fucking movement by keys by pixel

its fucking infuriating trying to line up selection or paste something precisely when they dont fucking bother to adjust it in any other way than mouse...

its requested feature for like 5 years, but its like theres no development team, just some occasional coders doing something from huge list of things that needs to be done

gimp is incredibly needy,
you do something(draw arrow, outline text, ...) in paint.net / pinta / photoshop in 3 steps, gimp needs 19 steps

I understand love for gimp its capable of doing almost everything, but its just too raw tool for me
