I am on Windows because video games and some shits.
I know mpv have better scalers and hardware acceleration.
However interpolation doesn't work at all even with tscale-clamp.
I tried the haasn's config too without success.
When using backend=dxinterop my computer crashes and reboot.

What should I do?
>>
I'm pretty dumb but I tried one of those presets long ago. This one:

vo=opengl-hq:interpolation:scale=ewa_lanczossharp:cscale=ewa_lanczossoft
video-sync=display-resample

Video is a little bit... smoother on it? Is it because of the video-sync setting specifically?
>>
>>54311373
It's interpolation aka smoothmotion (madvr) aka fluidmotion (mpdn).
But interpolation needs video-sync=display-* to be active.

Download mpv from this:
https://bitbucket.org/rorgoroth/mpv-for-windows/downloads

Don't download latest archives because they don't include mpv.conf file.
Now change the vo part with the high or highest preset.

Don't forget these presets need good GPU (graphic card).
So if it's slow or if you have noisy fans, use a lower preset.
You can check GPU load with GPU-Z. Keep it under 85%.

There are plenty of commits in the mpv repository.
But very few in the lavfilter/mpc-hc ones.

Who needs a GUI to play videos? Literally only point of even using a mouse would be for precise seeking / scrollbars, in which case you can just use a slim bottombar or something.

All the complicated settings I can think of are done in the settings file. I can't think of what kind of setting you would need to be adjusting at runtime that would also require the use of a mouse to do so.

But you have keys on the keyboard for that. Why would you need a GUI? I really don't get it.

What's easier, hitting the spacebar or moving the mouse to the bottom edge to bring up the GUI and clicking on the small ‘pause’ button?

>>

Well there is a button for this (# to cycle the audio track), but I've literally never used it.

Normally, if I'm playing something like an anime, which audio track I want to be hearing is constant througout the entire show - so why would I need to be adjusting it at runtime? Just play it as
mpv --aid=2 [Coalgirls]_Stupid_Waste_of_Space_[1080p,BD]
.
>>
>>54313378
>I need something like in the related picture.
But why? Are you adjusting these settings _at runtime_? During playback? Otherwise, what's the point?

Script chain configuration is done in the settings file, because why would you need to be constantly changing it? I don't get it

Bilateral in particular is literally KNOWN to produce bad posterization artifacts.

>>
>>54314617
dxinterop is higher quality for now, but it explodes on some drivers (see >>54311360.) ANGLE doesn't support 16-bit FBOs yet, but when it does, it will have feature parity with dxinterop, and it will probably be preferable because it will give the same benefits to frame timing without relying on weird buggy OpenGL extensions.
>>
>>54314784
What about AMD?
>>
>>54314717
dxinterop if it works for you. It's basically not experimental at this point, it just uses an extension which is poorly supported by older graphics drivers. If dxinterop doesn't work, use the default backend, unless it has noticeably bad frame timing, in which case you should use ANGLE as a last resort.

>>54314763
If dxinterop dies when you resize the window, it doesn't work for you. Try updating your GPU drivers or operating system. If it dies for other reasons, pls post logs.

How do I toggle the osc with a single button between the two values always and never. I know that you can
cycle osc-visibility
but that isn't what I am looking for as it also goes through the auto value; I simply just want always and never.

I want to bind it to the MOUSE_BTN2, so there are two ways of going about this; either click to toggle or hold down to hide and release to display.

I've tried
MOUSE_BTN2 cycle-values script_message osc-visibility "always" "never"
with and without
script_message
but they both don't work.

I've also tried creating a lua for holding and releasing but it also doesn't work (because I suck). If someone could help debug the following that would be much appreciated:

function osc_display_handler()
if "MOUSE_BTN2" == "down" then
script_message osc-visibility always
else if "MOUSE_BTN2" == "up" then
script_message osc-visibility never
end
end
mp.add_key_binding("MOUSE_BTN2", "toggle_osc", osc_display_handler, complex=true)
