Yes, if K variant of 2600, because it overclocks like crazy, unlike that Ivy glued-ihs piece of shit. Even if non-K, sure, if you can get it for cheap.
Its also the last good Intel chip alongside of 2500k.

A 3470, if its a whole PC I'd do it. You can do almost everything, even games, but I would not convert a lot then i7s become more valuable. A 4 core i7 gives a 30 % speed boost, a hexacore i7 about 50-60 %.
