Hey guys, I was working on a template for a website and I wondered if I should use a simple HTML tag (like <dd>) or use a named div.

I'm torn on this because the former means less load for the server and the latter means being compliant with current standards.

When in doubt go with the option that makes whatever you're working on work the fastest. The user doesn't give a flying fuck how elegant your code is, they care that their porn downloads before they prematurely ejaculate to the thumbnail.

You should use divs for everything. And stop worrying about nonsense optimisation.

Even if it means slowing down everything 0.1 seconds or using more bandwidth?

Just shrink an image. There you go.

It does, why edit multiple instances if the same style using HTML if you can just edit one line of CSS.

What the fuck are you even talking about, retard.

HTML tags are super important for web crawlers, aka search engines. Do you want traffic on your site? Then do it right.

Use <article> and <main> and <section>
Using generic <div> tags because it's all you know is a bad move. Spend 1-2 days learning HTML5 tags, get modern!

You what? The standard clearly states that div is only used when none of the other tags make sense, which is never.
