What DE does /g/ choose?
>>54299010
xfce
>no ssh server
have fun!
>>54299010
Cinnamon and MATE are nice, I like them the best.
>>54299010
kde
or xfce if you want something lightweight
>>54299010
standard system utilities so i could install pantheon later on
>>54299042
Why do you need a ssh server?
What is Debian DE
>>54299010
I guess I'm the only one who had issues with Cinnamon. MATE all the way now.
>>54299010
None of them. Install CDE with compton.
>>54299126
I'm pretty sure it just means the default so GNOME.
xfce4+compton
Just werks.
>>54299093
my home server, my work computer
>>54299010
KDE
>>54299256
I'd install CDE if it wasn't annoying to compile.
>>54299448
Yes, but you said
>>no ssh server
>have fun!
making it sound like everyone needs it.
>gnome
shit
>xfce
lightweight
>kde
bling bling
>cinnamon
autism
>mate
decent
>lxde
same as xfce except less features and more bugs
>>54299010
None, I like to use TWM.
I'm fucking stupid like that, you see.
>>54299010
Whichever will turn your monitor the right way up. Reading it must hurt your neck that way.
Lxqt+compton
i3
Keep wasting your time with shiny objects
Print server of course!

I know, it feels dumb now since nothing has been written using Motif in like 15 years.
>>54301479
Whomever owns that VM desktop got rekt in that thread.
>>54301764
It's mine; it's not a VM.
>>54300984
It is not a DE but WM.
And xmonad is better.
>>54299782
Not OP but in my opinion XFCE is actually nice. While yes,I admit the design looks a bit like Mac (I could be wrong tho),it looks pretty lightweight and simple to use.
>>54299010
None, cause /g/ is a group of autists.
CLI4WIN
>>54302121
>xmonad is a dynamically tiling X11 window manager that is written and configured in Haskell.
>written and configured in Haskell.
>Haskell
Lol, no bruh. It's shit.
I went with XFCE, but that's because I have a seven year old laptop and you know what? It looks good and it flies.
>>54299782
This.
>>54304521
xfce doesn't look like mac but it can be made relatively easily looking similar to a mac, it also can be made to look like windows xp or above or like an autistic hacker interface.
>>54306754
It's Linux so there's not really anything stopping you from making it look like another DE.
>>54299010
I like using GNOME, but you should just use whatever works best for you.
Xfeces
>>54299010
LXDE
It's pretty comfy after you remove lxpanel from it and add gmrun.
>>54301479
>screenfetch -t
Or just resize your terminal window
>>54302121
xmonad is the coziest wm, works almost perfectly with default settings and absolutely thr best multi monitor support I've encountered
although I like dwm too
