Good evening /g/.
I just started out doing Unity tutorials in order to learn more about programming games and just because, well, it's pretty fun, relaxed, and you can do it while baked.
Now I'm pretty new to making games (last time I did was making shitty shmups in Game Maker in like 2006) so I was wondering what is /g/s opinion of Unity?
I am really enjoying how integrated the actual programming is into the main IDE where I can drag my shit around and apply graphics and whatever but at the same time, I'm a bit concerned about it being proprietary and it kind of feels like it is to game engines what Sublime Text is to text editors; gay.
Are there any good truly free game engines that are as convenient as Unity?
(inb4 freefag, inb4 go suck Stallmans cock, inb4 you fell for the FSF meme)
Pretty nice for small stuff, 3d isn't really my thing though
