>don't want to use chrome, so decide to use bing as my new search engine
>fast and no bullshit

Sometimes, competition is a good thing. Also fuck chrome
>>
Bing just werks for me too. I don't remember the last time I used Google and I don't miss it.
>>
>>54294299
Windows 10 + bing = faster than Chrome and google search.
>>
>>54294299
>fuck chrome
Are you retarded?
Do you like your web browser to be slow and inferior to chrome?
It's 2016 and Firefox still can't do multiprocessing and it's developed by SJWs.
>Inb4 muh ram usage
I didn't notice much difference between sjwfox and chrome and chrome is much faster. I can use chrome without problems even with 3 GiBs of ram.
>>
>>54294389
Chrome's ram hogging is a problem.

>I'm gonna put aside some ram even though I'm not using it right now

I'm still waiting for that one lightweight browser (or I can just make my own) that cuts out all the bullshit.

there's nothing wrong with bing. If you're worried about mah spying, most of us use windows anyways. and if microsoft wants to know that I look up exhentai links, then let them. they'll get sadpanda'd anyway, and they probably have worse things to deal with, like people who deliberately look up cp on their search engine

Bing is trash. Every time I try it, it fucking sucks. Most of the time the thing I want doesn't even come up. Google is always within three pages.

Bing is better for porn, and for the presidential election. The rest is just about the same.

It blows for picking up actually relevant results. Seriously.

If I throw "hn36201cg datasheet" into Google, I get several relevant results from English websites right at the top.

If I throw the same into Bing, I get fucking Russian results.

Why do you people bother with this ass-blasting search engine? Use fucking Startpage. Google's search engine handles strange requests much better than Bing's does. Bing pulled up the same results that fucking Yahoo did.
>>
>2016
>using google
>using bing

Fucking kill yourself.
>>
>>54294991
I would agree if Google didn't artificially lower performance of google and youtube on firefox browsers. At that point, I could shuffle through three pages of a results and still find a result faster than google can before it decides to stop taking a break and actually search for me.

>search term
>white screen for ten to fifteen seconds
>results finally show up on screen

And you searched some obscure shit. provided, google is good about finding the most obscure shit, but that's more of a situational case than anything. And I am willing to give bing a try for the sake of speed, you know, the one thing google was always about.

Bing results are still a little off for me sometimes but so much better than even a year ago.

Much better image search.
Video search is crazy with live thumbnail previews.
UI is much nicer with dank background images each day, I learn about some random shit most days.

>white screen for ten to fifteen seconds

Nigga how slow your internet is?
Is your provider using fishing line for wires?
>>

No my internet is godly. As I said, this doesn't happen when using chrome.

haven't used it myself so don't know if chrome is one of the useragent choices or not but here

Anon, >>54294991 here. Just did a little test for you myself on a 50/50 home connection and a decent PC.

I think you have a very specific issue. For me, google and bing were very similar in speed (with bing being slightly faster), and only Startpage and yahoo lagged behind. Startpage I can understand given it has to search google itself and then return the results, yahoo has no excuse.

>I'm gonna put aside some ram even though I'm not using it right now
that's completely fine as long as it uses it later
>>
>>54295320
The google thing happens periodically. It doesn't always happen, but it seems to happen during moments you don't want it, and it's too frequent that it's pretty annoying. I've done fresh installs and looked around, but it's kind of weird no one else had this issue, maybe because everyone uses Google and those who use firefox are using other solutions to be bothered by it.
>>
>yahoo is the default search engine on firefox
fucking why, it's literally the worst search engine
>>
>>54295348
Could be an ISP or router issue, honestly. What ISP and router are you running? What OS on the router?
>>
>>54295338
So, I did this and well...

it actually fixed the fucking problem. what a riot. fucking jews lol

>>54295371
it's neither. again, this is not a network issue. It's a browser issue. Using the new user agent basically made this super fast again. I'm not joking.
>>
>>54295403
Weird as shit, fampai.

Well enjoy the speed.
>>
>>54295434
Yeah I thought I was completely insane and being tin foil, but I had a funny feeling it was being done purposely by google to make people switch to chrome. after all, they do have the "want a faster google? Get chrome" ad that shows up when people use it with a non chrome browser.
>>
>>54295434
it's not weird at all though senpai, it's google being dicks, just like firefox is being dicks when they publish bugged code as the source for firefox, so that all forks are and will remain inferior

It was half-serious but changing the user agent doesn't make it a different browser.

You can make Linux look like Windows XP :)
>>
>>54295882
It does change what services view it as, which can be used against you. IE: Some sites will refuse to load on older IE browsers, but if you theoretically loaded a FireFox useragent on them, they would work.

Bing is pretty good, I just wish there was a way to hide the news bar at the bottom by default. There are some differences in the quality of searches between the two engines, but it's not really big enough to keep me exclusively on one provider.

I also wish you could choose image providers or set your own images on the home page. The gifs are a really cool idea. Most of the time the background images are cool, but sometimes you get some really ugly ones.

pic related. fps sucks cause I suck at making webms

I've been using Bing search for 6 months. Last night I switched Edge to Google for two reasons.

Bing Image search is complete shit for anything other than porn.

Bing doesn't do exact string matches properly, so when I search for +"this exact string" all kinds of extraneous garbages comes up.

Google > Bing.

I still have Bing in Chrome for porn. That's all it's good for.
