Free - unlimited local backups
I'm not sure I would go with crashplan for cloud backups but I haven't had an issue for local ones. I've used the backup once after a fresh install and had no issues.

Local as in my own drives inside my house or car or garage.
I'm pretty sure you can backup to a file share as well.
