Why is UI so hard to design?
>>
Literally can be done with pen and paper with no artistic abilities
>>
>>54225015
Because it requires logic just like programming, although programming can have a fixed set of rules. UI Design involves human subjectivity, which isn't rigid, so it's a challenge to find something that's pleasing for the majority of people.
>>
>>54225015
Because it implies that you know what the user needs, which implies empathy, which you obviously lack being the usual command line munching autist.
>>
>>54225015
Because STEM can't into aesthetics.
>>
>>54225015
Becuase you are a fucking autist

/g/ demands this be public release with no malware added!
>>
Because you are trying to do OOP in JavaScript, you moron!
>>
>>54225015
apple design philosophy, it shouldn't be there when not needed but you don't have to look for something when you need it, the key is to know what the user needs
>>
>>54225162
STEaM is not even a joke anymore

Because you're trying to accomodate the reasoning and thought process of morons.

>>54226462
just expect anything from the chans to have hacks built in.
ran thru mwb and defender, looks safe enough.

I'm asking because I'm pretty sure I got a keylogger from a download of browser. One day I noticed a weird entry in Process Explorer. After some snooping I found a plaintext file with my keystrokes in it in a directory named "4chan." This was at least five or six years ago, but I'd definitely be wary of it.
>>
>>54226788
as the coder of "browser" posted in this thread, I can tell you that it has never had any kind of malware coded into it. and the only folder it creates is call "beerowser" in the user app data folder.

of course, you should NEVER trust what you read, and should never let your guard down when doing something foolish like running an anonymous executable.

disgusting!

It's not

>>54225015
Because no matter how good a developer/designer/psychologist you are, your idea of what other people would find functional/usable/aesthetic is almost always completely wrong. Therefore, designing an "universally" great UI requires spending $BIGNUM on extensive usability testing with large focus groups and proper methodology.

>UI
you mean UX right? all the cool kids say UX now.
>>
>>54225015

IT IS NOT HARD TO DESIGN.

People with high paying UI Designer jobs want to convince everyone that they are doing something difficult that requires lots of time and skill that none many people have.

There's an abundance of decent UI designers.

http://blog.careerfoundry.com/ui-design/the-difference-between-ux-and-ui-design-a-laymans-guide/

> A UI without UX is like a painter slapping paint onto canvas without thought; while UX without UI is like the frame of a sculpture with no paper mache on it. A great product experience starts with UX followed by UI. Both are essential for the product’s success.”

Because opinions.
