ITT: Throwback to when /g/ actually made things.
They failed, but we made things.
I'm talking about the site with the beet icon (you know the one), I'm talking about /g/itcoin, about fedoracoin and all those other beautiful wrecks.
Pic related, just saw this one posted on HN.
Fuck, I remember the beet one, what was it called
Diaspora.
It lasted what, three weeks?
>>54223616
bump, anyone remember the name?
>>54223467
>>54223651
Wait, Diaspora was a /g/ project?
I think I still have a hub somewhere
>>54223671

Newfags, lurk more: https://install-logos.github.io/
>>54224319
nah
>>54223616
only thing I know of with a beet icon is literally called beets, it's not a failed /g/ project though, it's a pretty handy music library organizer/tagger. after initial setup and import which can be a bit drawn out, it's great for importing new music into your music folder and have it automagically go to the right artist/album folders and get proper tags from musicbrainz
Recent /g/ makes things too
https://nonfree.pizza for example
>>54224457
wtf is going on here
>>54224319
Arch installer for people too dumb to copy paste commands from the wiki.
How am I not surprised this is a creation from g?

/g/ CAME UP WITH THE PAJEET MEME RECENTLY
>>54224786
meme creation is something to be ashamed of not proud of
>>54224457
It was a girl?

Grand Theft GNU
>>54224916
didn't they get sued?
No /g/ project has ever been finished, get out of here with your psuedo accomplishments.
/b/ has linux distros made while /g/ doesn't because /g/ is chock full of CS dropouts who think they're intelligent by arguing about licenses all day and which obscure programming is the most hard on purpose
fuck we need to do this again
Remember /g/torrent where all the time was spent on the logo by the entire dev group while about 2 people worked on the actual program until one got tired of it and split off and started his own then we had 2 that we were focusing entirely on the icons for while only one person worked on each until they both completely failed and everyone forgot about them
it was great
