Meh this has been a long time coming, the mobile market is stagnating as people are happy with the hardware they have and don't want to upgrade to the next gen smartphones useless gimmock. Most people are using older second hand phones because the hardware is good enough for them and there's no shortage of old smartphones laying around so it's cheaper for them. Same thing happened with PCs, sales are declining because there's no shortage of good enough cheap hardware laying around. When was the last time apple actually innovated anyway? Their selling point has always been "innovation" (stealing other peoples ideas and marketing them to death), but now that people are happy with what they have apples explosive growth is going to slow to a halt unless they find some game changing ideas to rip off.

Most people haven't been upgrading their phones, because they are still happy with the 4/4S.
Wife has a 4, and has had one for 2 years now. She's still perfectly happy with it. 60 bucks for the phone, and 60 bucks for the lifeproof case (was on clearance at the website, and ebay is full of knock offs).
She's just now starting to whine about shit not being available on the store anymore (despite her OS version being outdated for years), and asking for the 4S, but I don't like the idea of Siri.
