>literally every Android player is shit
>Android users literally have to use the music player that they feel is the least shit

Which of the shitty Android music players did you settle for, /g/?

Answer this poll so we can figure this out once and for all. (Yes, high security has been enabled so you fuckers can't cheat)

https://www.strawpoll.me/10023299
>>
Your stupid fucking captcha isn't letting me submit.

But Poweramp is obviously the best, I don't know why anyone would use any other player.
>>
GPM has the best interface (all the other material players are amateurish and janky) but it's laggy shit that needs to be rewritten.

Honestly there are no genuinely good music players on Android, just different levels of shit. I miss Music.app.
>>
What's wrong with Google play music? Doesn't it allow you to add your own music? I pay for all my stuff (no bot net tier stuff on this guy's devices)
>>

You're the stupid fuck who can't figure out how to make it work.

Indeed. Android has yet to produce a good music player.

lol
>>
>>54180121
What? Can't you afford music? Are you a bushman? Either way, Google play music allows you to upload your own music. I don't know of anything wrong with Google's music player. It plays music and makes playlists. What else you want it to do?
>>
>>54180162
I don't pay for stuff that is freely available online.
>>
>>54180170
I don't know what the penalty is in Africa, but here in the states, just paying for it is much cheaper than the $250,000 fine + 5 years prison time PER infringement. Now quit ignoring me when I say Google's music player is just fine.
>>
>>54180191
>going to jail for downloading music

If you believe this, then you are the nigger.
>>
>>54180201
The FBI believes it--and they're the ones who will be prosecuting you if they catch you. And I said prison, not jail. Get your facts straight. You're still ignoring the fact I said Google Music is a fine player.
>>

Hey, guys! I believe Phonograph is a really cool app. Pic related.
>>
>>54180244
>Google Music is a piece of laggy shit
Are you using a $60 device or something? It runs fine on all of my devices. ...oh.... I guess that explains why you resort to pirating music. ....Can't even afford a decent phone.

>>54180246
...yes, a media player on a mobile device is part of a bot net. ...Do you have the source code to your tin-foil hat?
>>

VLC werks(tm) for me.
>>
>no mpdroid
>>
>>54180274
>Are you using a $60 device or something?

Nexus 5. Play Music is slower than any other player and has no features.
>>
>>54180266
This player supports FLAC, and the usual MP3 and stuff. OGG, I don't think so.

Follow material design pretty well. Has two modes of browsing: folder root or database (i think?)
>>
>>54180283
>mpdroid

That doesn't count since it does not play music locally. It plays from an mpd server.

We are only discussing local music here. That's why I didn't list shit like Spotify which I'm sure some retards are upset is not in the poll.
>>
Just realized this was a poll and not a question.

Not that guy, but I consider being able to upload all my music to stream anywhere a pretty great feature...

I don't believe you. Srsly, it runs fine on all of my devices. Which are...
Nvidia Shield 1st gen (4G capable)
Sony Xperia Z1s
Sony Xperia Z3
Samsung Note 5 (starts sligtly slower than my other devices but runs fine otherwise)

>has no features
What features are you looking for? Maybe I'm missing out.
>>
I challenge you anons to find a musicplayer that can sort after newest oldest file date, not some last added bs that resets itself when the app data is erased.

>>
>>54180335
Honestly if I could get it to just display the full album art instead of zooming in I'd use it.
>>
>>54180613
>display the full album art instead of zooming in
I'm >>54180339 that guy and I think that's about my only complaint. You want to see a blown-up photo of the album art and then in zooms in like 250%, cropping out the rest. Otherwise I'm just listening to the music and driving or doing something else instead of just looking at the album art, so IMO it's really not much of a problem.

Some people on /g/ want design over options (Phonograph), something in the middle (BlackPlayer, Rocket, Shutle), something a lot with options to play around with(GMMP, Neutron, PowerAmp), or just something really simple and tiny (Vanilla, Hikiplayer, folder-based players)

Because over 90% of people (including tech savvy ones) don't give a shit about opus. The amount of work I would have to put in order to redownload everything in flac and then reencode it to opus just in order to save some disk space (since that's the only edge opus has over mp3 320/V0 or ogg) just makes it totally not worth.

Does it have a queue that works?
That's like literally all I want and a nice looking app.

It's fucking impossible to find one that creates a good queue like poweramp does.
>>
>>54181799
If Shuttle had a decent queue that separated it out from the rest of it, followed the new long press drop down and allowed me to queue songs, I'd be using it now, but it does nothing of the sort so I can't use it.

Queueing sucks on it though.

Also it's tough to queue up with Play Next while driving.

can i make poweramp not go to player screen when i select a song?

I love having the ability to set an eq for a specific song and that it will automatically play a song as soon as you plug in headphones.
>>
>>54180062
I tried google play music and poweramp paid version out at the same time and poweramp has much more customizable features and less ram consumption then google play music.

how do i get poweramp to only scan folders I choose? Seems to be also scanning the Android data and obb folders too.

no way to pirate power amp? cracked worked for like 10 mins then couldn't verify license. also not sure how I feel about the blur behind the album art and the auto focus to player ui when you select a song. Power amp does have a nicer looking notification than rocket player tho.
>>
>>54195335
Most of us just bought it when it was on sale for $1
>>
>>54195335
supposedly the crack works longer if you turn on the experimental feature to always keep the app running, but no matter what I did the license check always came up. I even tried using a modified play store, but all that really did was make poweramp patch work for a week instead of a day at most. Ijust went ahead and bought a different music app once I had money because I can't even imagine how intrusive that shit is to people who actually bought the app.
>>
Mainly some cracked Spotify because i have no money to buy a MicroSD card atm. I only got one 8GB one here i stole from my uncle.
>>
>>54195335
Get the one from mobilism. Werks just fine for me (read the comments/instructions)
>>
I use Gonemad. It's bloat-free, pretty aesthetic, and unlike every other goddamn music player I've used, it lets me sort by album artist. Am I the only one who uses that tag? Do you guys like having the same artist ten times in your library feat. some other motherfuckers and having your library swarmed with artists from whom you only have one song off a compilation?

>>
>>54195418
Dude you can fit at the very least 50 mp3 V0 albums on a 8GB SD. I don't know about you but that's more than enough for me for a mobile device. I have no need to carry my whole music collection all the time, plus it encourages me to rotate the albums so I don't get stuck listening to the same albums over and over.
>>
>>54180031
I use rocket player on a daily basis.
>>
>>54195535
Yeah i already have the 8GB filled and some of the 16GB from the internal memory too but i still like to listen to lots of stuff i don't have on the phone. I used to walk with my iPod Classic but ever since i had to replace the HDD twice i don't feel like doing it any more.

Your question wasn't what we think is best, your question was what we use.
I use timber, because I don't have google play services so I can run poweramp which is the only decent music player I have used.

I have to make my own at some point because they don't know what a music player is supposed to do or how the interface is supposed to work.
We never had this problem with desktop music players as you had a whole keyboard and now you basically have a single button.
Poweramp let's you change what that button does.

I know he is Indian. But it looks good and works like I want it to. My main issue is that I have to press 70 times to add a song to my queue instead of it being the default action.
When would I ever want to stop the music and play the new song?
I could just press next song for that.

Before this I've been using Shuttle for a year.

I'm proud of my ability to often hit the same tones as the singers (even the female ones!).

You don't have to memorize them if I'm there with you, singing those songs to you :3
