Give codeblocks a try, may you like it.
But i cant see a single fault in vim.

I'd just like to interject. What you're calling 'shitty' is really 'free'.

>>54167781
No, not really. Stop believing everything /g/ tells you.

It's way too much for me. I'd like something a little more friendly. I feel i am not typing nearly enough to make good use of it

As in you think it needs more features, or you don't like the usage?

If you like vim bindings (I think they're great once you have them in muscle memory), but want more features, try emacs with EVIL mode,

Spacemacs - the VIM keybindings in the most powerful editor

Your choices are Vim or VS

notepad++

codelite

This.
If I need to quickly edit a file, vim it is. But if I need to work in a project, nothing beats JetBrains

emacs

few people do.

What do you use then?

If it wasn't vim, it'll be emacs.

last time i tried Atom is ran considerably slower than Sublime. is that still the case?

Vim because nothing even comes remotely close to it.

What do you think?

CLion

That's the one

Is it any good?

>>54170394
If it's as good as InteliJ is for Java then yes

Did you shit vim up with a ton of plugins?

Vim is useful even with 0 plugins. With minimal plugins (vim-plug or vundle, minibuffexpl, powerline and nerdtree) it's already perfect for 90%+ of editing needs. Add a project manager and a C/C++ contextual code help tool and you cover 99.999% of needs.

Still, even without a single plugin it's great for all quick edits and scripts.

I tried you complete me but it's clear that it's a brittle hack. It's cute but vim was never designed to handle that kind of thing.

I use Jetbrains with the IDEAVim plugin. that way you get a well designed IDE with the vim editing. You can customize what keyboard shortcuts trigger vim and which ones trigger IDE shortcuts. It even support having a .ideavimrc
