I agree with you op. Ever since I took advantage of the free upgrade, my laptop battery lasts 2 hours longer and it uses way less memory. With windows 10 free upgrade ending in less than 3 months, upgrading right now is a no-brainer.
In my opinion, Windows 10 is free and great and all the so-called "privacy issues" are overblown paranoia. And this is coming from a seasoned computer engineer, network security expert, and sysadmin with decades of experience.

I love Windows 10 it's so much faster than Windows 7 and 8. The new Microsoft Edge browser even outperforms Google Chrome for me. Microsoft is finally doing shit right for a change.
I agree with most of the people who posted here. Windows 10 is a lot better than older versions of Windows. I upgraded because it is simply a better and more superior product.

what's funny is that the linux threads have been here for monthes now, and there was always people to post on it.
Because of that, soon after we started those linux and unix threads, some pajeet using windows 10 was jelly about us and created a windows thread. Obviously the threads died with no one to create a new one and the windows general lasted less than a week.
All you could read on those threads were people asking how to disable telemetry, and other botnet shit. That's funny since most those guys are always telling that they aren't pedo and got nothing to hide.
Even legit questions, like how to fix font rendering or how to rice windows never found answers since those guys are computer illiterate.
As long as you're a regular guy with a job, hobbies, a healthy social circle and purpose in life, you couldn't give two thirds of a diseased rat shit about who's mining what from you. As long as you get perks and features to compensate for it, and not having to resort to typing 3000 commands to copy a file.

Windows 10 is fantastic, and I've done some pretty neat things with the Cortana API to program my own voice commands (Cortana, load up all my favorite hentai sites.).
No one is 'proud' to use 10, though. They just use it because it's the default, or in my case, because it provides the best platform for the particular toolset I need.

Windows 10 isn't much batter than Windows 7 and it's way more bugged. A lot of people I know has downgraded since the free upgrade because of bugs. I myself would downgrade if it wasn't because the installation would mess my Grub.

1) I know that EULA have to cover all components but what services exactly does collect keystrokes? Edge and Cortana for sure but what about the rest? Typing anything in LibreOffice does too?

I was thinking of dual-booting or running a VM, but once WSL is fully implemented there won't be any reason to do so except to rice a new desktop, which is just a waste of time for me.
