Because I'm not a poor slav.

This.

And I would gladly switch to AMD if only their performance didn't suck on the high end stuff.

u just mad cause with dx12 you realised that you paid way to much for way less performance
>>

Man, I see you're an AMD fag, but this discussion isn't going anywhere like this.

>shitty dx12 performance
I really like this meme. NVIDIA's DX12 performance is just as good as its DX11 performance, because NVIDIA has never had problems writing good drivers.

It's AMD that suddenly gets a “boost” from DX12 because their DX11 drivers were unoptimized garbage.
>>
>>54147399
>that damage control

It doesn't matter who backs the company, nvidia cards tend to run a little better in battlefield 4, until you try to use mantle.
>>
>>54147201
>And I would gladly switch to AMD if only their performance didn't suck on the high end stuff.
I would gladly switch to AMD if they released Linux drivers that actually worked well.

(By that I mean good OpenGL performance, 10-bit color support, asymmetric multi-monitor support, support for “not segfaulting constantly”, etc.)
>>
>>54147424
>It doesn't matter who backs the company, nvidia cards tend to run a little better in battlefield 4, until you try to use mantle.
See >>54147418

Why do you think AMD was pushing Mantle so heavily? Because it's their best business strategy. Nvidia has always had the manpower to optimize their drivers for every single game release, which is why Nvidia has consistently been beating AMD even with weaker hardware (and therefore been able to significantly overcharge).

AMD is pushing Mantle because it takes away Nvidia's advantage of having better drivers. Once you remove that, AMD hardware is much better value than Nvidia hardware.

Nvidia is doing nothing “wrong” Mantle-wise. They just don't get a huge boost because their drivers were better to begin with.
>>
>>54147168
because despite of everything you say, things work better. since always. with less ram, less power, less raw performance. because of optimization.
damn, tried an amd gpu, performance was so unreliable, also had that video rendering issue on facebook......dude, seriously...

Linux
>>
>>54147168
Because at this moment nvidia provides a better Linux experience.
Luckily with vulkan and the new amdgpu linux drivers this should change over the next year or so and finally I'll have a viable alternative to nvidia hardware. However as it stands right now (and in the past, when I was actually in the market for new hardware) nvidia is the only reasonable choice for Linux users (Yes, even with the fucked-up way Optimus is dealt with. I would know, I'm using it).

Come on man.

I have both Nvidia and AMD rigs. But what I see is there is games that Nvidia looks so much better and fast than amd. And some games look and feel better on AMD I went to both sides. But I use more my Nvidia rig as I use my AMD as a server. Plex runs perfectly and file serving a breeze.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that amd fags are always grasping at some thing from the distant future? It's never here or now, it's always the "next year it will be better!" meme.

>Inadvertently implying AMD has better hardware
Yes, you correctly read between my lines that this is exactly what I'm implying.

>Implying there are no benefits to DX12
There are, especially for companies like AMD. But these benefits will take time to manifest themselves, as game companies begin to understand how to use it. Also note that Vulkan benchmarks have already been kicking ass. There's an improvement even for nvidia. (Pic related)

>Implying Nvidia is perfect and its DX12 performance is acceptable.
I don't recall implying this. You're reading too much into it there.

>Implying that a card gaining performance from a new Graphics Library isnt an incredible turn around from previous Graphics Library updates.
None of the previous graphics library updates have changed as much as DirectX12 / Vulkan are changing. They are fundamantally redesigning the API from scratch. Why do you think Khronos decided to rename it to Vulkan instead of calling it OpenGL 5?

(Spoiler: Unlike Microsoft, they actually care about API backwards compatibility in OpenGL)

Because, whilst a amd card may run better on paper, and in benchmarks, in games, a nvidia card usually runs better.

Why do AMD fanboys have such a horrible victim complex?
>>
>>54147168
They don't give a fuck since they have cuda, I don't think that their main sellingpoint are graphics cards for games anymore desu.

Pretty sure both AMD and Nvidia for their new offerings seem to be lacking asyn compute on the card.
If AMD got the power and heat down on the new generation like the rumors say, unless Nvidia can top that I'd get AMD.
My GTS450 is getting on in years and due for replacement really.
>>
If I want to build a new PC between now and June, is it worth waiting to see if Pascal comes out and/or prices drop?

Or should I buy now, since they've already stopped production on older cards?

Fermi was hot as fuck, now nvidiots claim AMD causes housefire because it's not as efficient as Maxwell, but it's nowhere near Fermi.
>>
>>54151930
Fermi was terrible, though the old 5000 HDs weren't much better.

GCN is similar to Kepler, they didn't change anything, the 'new' 300 series run hotter due to more OC and voltage. The 980 I had ran on 1550 MHz Boost 55° instead.

You can't compete a 2012-13 architecture with 2014-15 Maxwell.

One, I want a card right now and not in a few months.
Two, the mid-range models are never announced at the same time as the highend/flagships. So I'd probably be waiting 6+ months for a Pascal equivalent of the 960.
