Wrong again. In data enter environments with very heavy load, we're finding that ssds are lasting between two and three years. The exception is anything sandforce based (OCZ Talos 2 for example) The pliant lightnings were another surprise in just how long they last. We're replacing them not because they're worn out, but simply because at 3gbit SAS, they aren't fast enough anymore.
Our current standard storage sku is 24 400gb ssd, 48 15k 600gb spindle, and 60 -120 8tb spindle. Usually in a vnx2 or something 3par.
Next gen stuff is nvme to SAS ssd to spindle.
