gaming mostly, whats the point of an ssd?
>>
>>54123940
At least an i5 for gaming, preferably an i7. SSD has much faster load times.
>>
>>54123977
the i3 has more ghz tho, and i read that it wont bottleneck my r9 380. any reasons for suggesting the i5 or i7?
>>
>>54124030
New games will be optimized for dx12 wich uses more than 2 cores (supposedly), so an i5 gives you MOAR COARS
>>
>>54123846
it looks OKish
I am sad about the monitor and the lack of SSD but I understand... for good monitor you need like $220 and its not THAT huge of an improvement

does it look like he has budget for it?
and FYI, i3 has hyperthreading so it can do 4 threads
same as i5

and generally speaking for 95% of the games it wont matter if i5 or i3

>>54123846
OP tell us your MAX budget?

Op the processor you picked is amazing, I thin it's the best i3 release from Intel in many years !!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkQ4Cldp21o

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-PV7Ov8WBU

Just search on youtube benchmarks for
i3 - 6100 & gtx 750 ti or r7 370

Considering the price it's the superior option with 6th gen, an I5 would be 3 times more in price... and the performance is not that better look here:

>>
>>54124337
so you got extra ~$60 put that towards cheap i5
it will last you better and gpu is strong enough
ssd you can buy any day, but upgrade from i3 to i5 you can not do any day
>>
The monitor is shit.
Bought one for sister and it has tons of issues.
Shit has white lines all over it.
>>
>>54124370
thanks for the kind words friend, i did try and do my homework on the thing

Well that was fucking easy, and this PSU wont burn down your house either.
>>
>>54124370
So make sure your i3 6100 is going to cost you 100 usd.. more than that it's not worth it - try to find the cheapest deal / price, look on amazon etc
>>
>>54124448
why would that one burn down my house? the build wont be using nearly 500w

OP, get this and find a used R9 290 on eBay/Craigslist.
>>
>>54124648
An i3 costs 100 usd.
The 4th gen i5 you posted costs 160 usd... gg.

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i3-6100-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4460/3511vs2310

Yet the i3
consumes half the energy
and has slightly faster everything...
costs almost half the price.

faggot.

>>54124827
>gaming mostly, whats the point of an ssd?
Fuck games, SSDs are better for 90% of consumer applications. The only thing they aren't best at is storage capacity, but that's already changing.
>>
>>54124840
I was quoting OP.
Also it's in this "bizzaro" world.
>>
>>54124445
If you can, find an s230hl abd

I used one for years.

Officedepot has one for 120 right now.
>>
>>54124840
Most modern games are designed to be cpu intensive, benchmarks show you that.

i3 would work just about fine in every day usage, it handles what it needs to handle properly and again it costs 100 usd compared to 200 $ price point for i5 227$ usd.
>>
>>54124881
>i3 would work just about fine in every day usage, it handles what it needs to handle properly and again it costs 100 usd compared to 200 $ price point for i5 227$ usd.
The i5 is fucking $174, not $227
what fucking drug are you on?
>>
>>54124900
The 4th gen you posted but its integrated graphics is horrible.
i3 - 6100 has the latest integrated graphics so is a win for again only 100 usd.
I wouldn't buy a gpu on my build so I'm dependent on integrated one.
>>

HE'S GETTING A FUCKING DEDICATED GPU YOU IDIOT
NOBODY GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THE INTEGRATED GRAPHICS
YOU ARE A FUCKING DUMBASS

guys i am gonna be using my build to play video games and not multitasking really. is it a good build for this
>>
>>54123846
Looks a lot like the build I just finished today. I splurged a little on an SSD and bigger HDD though, and got a 16:10 master race display.

Is no one here going to mention the 1x8gb ram instead of 2x4gb?
>>
>>54123846
Depends. If you care about making the most of your limited funds and getting something that'll last, you fucked up. You would have been better off with an i5-6500, GTX 950, and a cheaper case (Fractal Designs Core 2300 is $40 and better than that). Hell, you even spent an extra $5 for gaymur heatsinks on your ram. Hell, you probably could have gotten an i5-6500 and an R9 380 2GB if you had spent your money properly.

Oh, and you also got a shitty 1080p 60hz TN panel. That's literally the worst of all worlds. Congratulations, you saved $10 there.

Here is what you should be getting if you don't include rebates and I have to go under your budget (GTX 950 because that TN panel is shit)

i3 wont bottleneck an R9 380? Rofl. Whoever told you that horseshit are the same guys who used to say the G3258 was a great CPU. Don't get me wrong, they have their place, but if you want to play modern AAA titles like GTA V, that i3 isn't going to cut it. You're better off with a slightly worse GPU and an i5 since graphical settings you can easily turn down (like no AA), but CPU related settings are few and far between, sometimes even nonexistent.
>>
>>54124759
