There's a disturbing lack of progress pics, but I might be able to get my hands on some drawings eventually. They're all stupid though, looking back.
All you need to know is that you might need to change the monitor refresh rate to avoid jitter, the wacom pro doesn't function with the button board disconnected, you should use a glass with no metal particles, avoid dust and you'll need to thinner the monitor add much as you can. Other than that it's just stacking things on top of each other. You can do calibration in software later.
A laptop monitor is recommended.
