I want to try i3 but I'm still very raw in terms of ricing so maybe I should start trashing with it on a VM or something.
Using Debian + Cinnamon. Want to switch to i3, I still find it a bit difficult.

Debian Stable is one of the most comfiest distros I've ever use. Still rocking a desktop with it and shit is like immortal.

use architect linux for the installer. its literally a vanilla install with prompts.
id recommend antergos but its fucking retarded and the installer barely ever works
I recommend mate for your desktop set-up. after installing look up "yaourt" and copy and past the commands into the terminal to use for package management

Using a wm and ricing are completely different things. You can use i3 completely in its default state and get on well. Just learn the basic keys and functions and use it, that's all there is to it.

Thanks dude! It amazes me every time I use it just exactly how customizable this system is. Plus it's great for learning by trial. For example it was easy to find how to remove the borders and title bars from my windows. Did it and poof they were gone. The problem with this though is that if you get rid of the borders completely there is no way to resize the windows with your mouse. Changed the border to 1 pixel and I still get the basic effect but the added functionality of being able to resize without keystrokes. Lesson learned and filed away for next time!

No. Don't. Just stick with arch. Use architect to install if you can't into cli installation. You can use cinnamon with vanilla arch! But don't go fork yourself with manjaro or antergos. Just don't.
