I just quit smoking. I was tempted to start vaping, but decided against it, since I was mostly quitting in order to save money.
Glad I didn't go that route.
Also, I've smoked over a pack a day for the last 12 years, and after about 5 or 6 days the cravings almost completely vanished. I expected this to be much more difficult, though that first week was about as terrible as I expected.

But there is legitimate harm in some forms of vaping- when the wick gets carbonised you start overheating the liquid and doing the same shit to the liquid that what happens in cigarettes. Hot enough to create free radicals that produce all sorts of shit. Moral of the story is change the wick when it starts getting toasty.
And generally that's how studies work, they take the position of the funder "X is bad" and then put X under the most extreme conditions possible to show that x is indeed bad.
