When you use it as a desktop for a long period of time, you take out the battery. Mine still holds a 3.5 hour charge. Shitty, yes. But I get more when the graphics card isn't working.
You see you're still stuck in 2005. Intel chips have something called intel HD. When you use your gaming laptop for desktop shit, it doesn't utilize the 90+watt graphics card.

Besides, 3.5h is about 3x as shitty as a normal laptop, for 2x or even 3x the weight. To everybody their own and all but buying a shitty laptop and a shitty desktop just seems so wasteful.
