Why do you think only nerds come on 4chan? It's one of the more popular sites on the internet and plenty of the "normies" you hate so much (while wanting their acceptance) come on here too, even on /g/

How autistic can you be? Bright on dark obviously contrasts well, for text that's pretty important for readability, if you're going to be staring at a terminal all day you should at least try to make it readable, it's obvious why a dark background would be more beneficial for the eyes.
>but I saw it in the matrix once so that means everyone who does it is some leet haxor xd
You're the one who should kill yourself.

White can ruin your vision while black not

were people running their visions till the invention of the computer screen?
paper: white
early computer terminals: black on white
this site: black on light gray

you can't post emojis on 4chan you know

Yes and some still are, what kind of dumb question is that. Paper also doesn't emit light it just reflects it. Just because the majority do something doesn't make it correct, just because people did something in the past does not make it correct.

You're proof that bright backgrounds cause eye damage.

There are several themes by default on 4chan and obviously you can use your own. Just because something is the default doesn't make it correct.
>>
>>53952106
but people who use 4chan and/or custom themes are the ones having eye problems

What's your basis? I can tell you that's not the case for me, I did when everything was bright though.

I haven't used it in a while, but I recall that there were a bunch of different fonts. Most were rips from historical sources. Old IBM terminals, Apple II font, etc.

i wish i could find something that cool

though i heard maintaining equipment that old is a pain in the ass

extract the fonts from cathode package (osx apps are just folders)
all fonts are available in demo version
>>
>>53955429
not really, but it seems to depend where you live
I don't live in a very humid area and I rarely have problems with old hardware except for ones that already had notoriously shit QC on the first place, like late '80s Apple hardware

terminals are pretty damn simple and the most you'd probably have to worry about is bad caps or other discrete components, ICs don't just up and fail unless they're being pushed to their absolute limits

sometimes I almost wish I lived in the '90s just so I could be there to pick up the containers full of free terminals and UNIX iron that was being tossed by the truckload

openbsd master race

>>53955505
well some machines like the C64 had downright bad ICs like the SID chip which would self-destruct when it came in contact with static electricity, so who knows
>>
>>53950729
Oh man, I forgot I have sl installed.

My nephew was watching me work one day, and it popped up, and he freaked out.
>>
>>53955526
yeah maybe, I'm not really much for 8-bits and other low end stuff so I can't really speak to it, but my IBM hardware of a similar vintage is flawless and I daily drive a lot of other old shit all the time
