Are computer technician / network engineer jobs better than software development?
I feel I'm a pretty "normal" guy. I tried being a webdev for 18 months but I couldn't stand the expectation of being a nerd, sitting at your desk, not contributing to real world problems or decisions.
I reckon it would be quite cool to be some sort of computer engineer who is called out to places to fix things. Does anyone here do a job like that? What's it like?
Attempted bump
I'm also wondering the same.
Right now I'm in a coding academy but I'm not sure if I should continue and become a front-end dev and later switch to back-end or get some CISCO and MS certs and become a sys admin/network engineer.

If you thrive on pressure and being interrupted every few seconds by someone asking you how long you're going to be, yes.

It depends on what you want to do.

Don't be a nerd, then. You can do workouts, drive a car, chase a pussy and still be a webdev.
