So, I have been trying to solve this issue for 5 months now. Registering in 3 different hardware / Android forums brought exactly NO replies.

Try different roms to eliminate software issue. Does the speaker sound turn off when the headphones are plugged in? (Is it detecting them?) If it is possible dead HP amp, if not trace the pins used to detect headphone and look for possible issues there.
